Student Spotlight

Heather considers her educational life a long and winding road, but she wouldn’t change it now because it brought her to the BIS program.

Sven Jansen grew up in Cape Town, South Africa and experienced the end of Apartheid while in his youth. His family believed in activism and placed a high priority on education.

Michael Carr is currently working to complete his BIS degree in Environmental Sustainability and Conservation in Spring of 2021.

Prior to attending George Mason, Brian served as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. He deployed to Ramadi, Iraq, supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom II, and served as a Logistics Manager in Okinawa, Japan.
