When Mark Friese’s son was diagnosed with autism, he found limited resources to help plan for his child’s future. Today, he uses his financial expertise and the knowledge he gained to help other families of children with special needs and to advocate for their financial health. Mark uses his BIS concentration to support the research and writing necessary to make an impact.
The College of Humanities and Social Sciences rolled out a red carpet for its alumni over the course of two evenings during the university's Alumni Weekend. The Distinguished Alumni Reception recognized some of the contributions made by college alumni, and a social event, open to all college alumni, combined scholarship and relaxing fun.
James and Gayle “Gigi” Green, BIS ’00 and MA ’09, are passionate about education, basketball and Mason. Recently, the Greens combined all three to create a significant and lasting means of support for some deserving students.
In the next few weeks, prestigious honor society Phi Beta Kappa will invite its first George Mason University students to join the university's new chapter. The college looks forward to congratulating these scholars!
